Of all plastic surgery procedures, nose refinement, or rhinoplasty, is among the most common. Nose refinement can be performed on any part of the nose, to change its size; to modify the size and shape of the nostrils, tip or bridge of the nose; or to alter the slope or angle of the nose. Nose refinement may also be performed to correct an injury or birth defect, or to improve breathing. Dr. Buckspan performs rhinoplasty under local or general anesthesia. Following surgery, discomfort is minimal, and brusing may give you a temporary "black-eye" appearance. A splint over the nose is worn for a week, but you may shower immediately. No packing in the nose is usually required. You can return to work or non-strenuous activities within a week. Strenuous activities may be resumed within six weeks. |
